Janmashtami Mahila Celebration 2025, Canberra, Australia
Mahila-led Janmashtami celebration • Women and girls united in devotion and cultural celebration
Women and girls in Canberra came together to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami through a special Mahila celebration on 31 August 2025.
The celebration provided an opportunity for women and girls of different generations to come together in an atmosphere of devotion, joy and cultural expression while commemorating the birth of Bhagwan Shri Krishna.
The programme centred on devotional and cultural presentations, allowing participants to express their faith and celebrate the significance of Janmashtami together. The event also provided a meaningful platform for women and girls to participate actively in preserving and sharing Hindu traditions.
Through their participation, the women and girls contributed to creating a vibrant and spiritually uplifting celebration. The gathering also strengthened bonds among the mahilas and provided an opportunity for different generations to connect through shared values, devotion and culture.
The Janmashtami Mahila Celebration formed part of the wider 2025 Janmashtami celebrations held across BAPS centres throughout the Asia Pacific region.
The Canberra celebration brought the local mahila community together in a spirit of devotion and togetherness, creating an opportunity to celebrate Bhagwan Shri Krishna while strengthening the cultural and spiritual values passed from one generation to the next.
