BAPS wellNESS Health Convention, UK
Over 500 people attended the BAPS wellNESS Health Convention in London, with 25 NHS, academic and charity partners supporting the Health Marketplace.
Over 500 people from across the UK gathered at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London, on 11 January 2026 for the BAPS wellNESS Health Convention, a full-day event dedicated to promoting healthier living.
The convention brought together NHS professionals, charities, public health leaders and faith representatives to address key health challenges affecting the South Asian community, including heart disease, diabetes and mental health. Building on conventions held in Manchester and Leicester in 2025, the London event focused on the four pillars of the BAPS wellNESS initiative: Nutrition, Exercise, Sleep and Stress Management.
Participants attended expert-led talks, interactive workshops and practical demonstrations covering heart health, diabetes, nutrition, cancer and mental health. Workshops included men’s and women’s health, meditation, exercise, breathwork, stress management, live cooking demonstrations and resuscitation training.
A key feature was the Health Marketplace, supported by 25 NHS, academic and charity partners and local services offering personalised guidance and practical support. The event aimed to help individuals and families develop healthier habits through accessible and culturally relevant health education.
The convention also featured a video message from Mahant Swami Maharaj and an address by Yogvivekdas Swami. The Rt Hon Wes Streeting MP, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, praised the initiative for its impact and described the work as pioneering and leading.
Dr Niket Patel, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, highlighted the importance of such events in empowering people with accurate and practical knowledge to make positive lifestyle changes. The BAPS wellNESS Health Convention forms part of BAPS’ ongoing commitment to supporting healthier communities through education, collaboration and practical action.
