1,000 Nakkar Vidwan Mahotsav, Melbourne, Australia

1,000 Nakkar Vidwan Mahotsav, Melbourne, Australia

1,465 individuals memorized all 315 Sanskrit verses of the Satsang Diksha shastra.

As part of the ‘1,000 Nakkar Vidwan Mahotsav’ organized by BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute Australia, a grand celebration was held in the divine presence of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj to honor 1,465 individuals who had memorized the 315 Sanskrit verses of the Satsang Diksha shastra. Devotees from across Australia and New Zealand gathered to recognize the time, effort and dedication of each scholar.

The celebration began with a Grand Felicitation Ceremony, where Pujya Ishwarcharan Swami and Anandswarup Swami presented each Nakkar Vidwan with a certificate, trophy and memento sanctified by Mahant Swami Maharaj. Devotees honored the scholars by showering them with flower petals, followed by a group photo session.

During the evening assembly, scholars, teachers and parents shared how engaging in scriptural study had transformed their lives. Youths presented speeches on verses from the Satsang Diksha and explained how they had incorporated its virtues into their lives. A discussion also highlighted how the values taught in the Satsang Diksha are universal and relevant to people around the world.

Mahant Swami Maharaj participated in a special Shalaka Spardha, during which children recited selected shlokas from the Satsang Diksha. He praised the children for their efforts and guided them on progressing in their lives. The audience also recited shloka 108 together.

For many participants, the journey of memorizing the shastra encouraged daily study, greater discipline and prioritization of spiritual learning. Shared study also helped friendships flourish as individuals supported one another in their spiritual journeys.

The Mahotsav highlighted the importance of passing sacred knowledge from one generation to the next and demonstrated how collective scriptural study can bring people together in spiritual growth.

“The power of dedicated scriptural study to transform lives and inspire spiritual growth across generations.”
